Wendy McNally is a visual artist, born in 1955 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
She was raised by her Ukrainian parents, in the province of Saskatchewan.
In 1978, Wendy interrupted her studies at the University of Alberta
to travel to New Zealand with her husband while he completed his Medical
Internship.
After returning to Canada and starting a family, Wendy spent the next decade
producing large-scale acrylic paintings and collaborating in ceramics with her
husband. She has completed an extensive body of work including paintings,
ceramics and works on paper. She has exhibited nationally within Canada, aswell as internationally in the United States, France and New Zealand.
In 1997, Wendy's eldest son, Seumas, fell ill with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Wendy retired from studio work and became Art Director and Lead Artist for
her son's newly developed computer game company, Longbow Digital Arts Inc.,
producing award winning and popular family entertainment.
Following Seumas' death in March of 2000, Wendy moved to Toronto with her
husband, Jim and youngest son, Philippe, where she continues to work as a visual artist and Adult Literary Fiction writer while operating the Wendy McNally Art Gallery in the Toronto Eaton Centre.
